การใช้ each และการ every

Each ใช้กับนามเอกพจน์ และตามด้วยรูปกริยาของเอกพจน์ ตัวอย่าง Each student has been given her or his own e-mail address. ถ้าพูดรวมๆทั้งเขาและเธอจะใช้ their แทน เช่น Each student has been given their own e-mail address.

Each ตามหลังคำนามพหูพจน์/หรือสรรพนามพหูพจน์ กริยาต้องใช้ในรูปพหูพจน์ เช่น They each have their own e-mail address.

Every ใช้กับนามเอกพจน์ และรูปกริยาเอกพจน์ เช่น Every student in this class is capable of passing the exam.

Each of, each one of and every one of ต้องตามด้วย นาม/สรรพนามพหูพจน์ แต่กริยาต้องเป็นรูปแบบเอกพจน์ เช่น Each (one) of the houses is slightly different. I bought a dozen eggs and every one of them was bad.
